Ghungroo

A pair of traditional Ghungroos, which are musical anklets worn by classical Indian dancers, most notably in dance forms like Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Odissi. This specific pair features small, metallic brass bells (salangai) securely woven into a thick, padded red cloth/rope base. The cushioned backing provides comfort and stability around the dancer’s ankles during rigorous footwork, while the bells produce a bright, rhythmic, metallic sound when shaken or stamped against the floor.
